I feel like we’ve finally turned the corner in what has been a crazy 2020 with the arrival of summer and our finished One Room Challenge laundry room! This was a great family project with Grant doing most of the demo and construction and a special DIY build from my children Matthew and Lily. I’m so excited to share it with all of you!

For those of you who have followed this challenge consistently, you already know that Reducing, Reusing and Recycling - “Redesign” - is at the heart of everything I do. I always try to incorporate vintage and antique elements and transform them to achieve a look that is curated over time. Buying well made and hand crafted furniture and pieces is very important to me and this project was no exception.

Two weeks left. That’s it! Only two weeks left in the Better Homes & Gardens One Room Challenge and while we’ve done A LOT throughout the challenge so far in Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and Week 4 there is still so much to do.

It’s already Week 4 of the Better Homes & Gardens One Room Challenge , we’re at the halfway mark and panic is officially setting in! Our plumber is coming next Tuesday which is great news but until that is done we can’t close up the walls to paint and install the flooring. So … we switched gears a bit and started working ahead on some of the finishing touches for the laundry room including building shaker peg shelves.

We’re over one third of the way through the challenge but not nearly one third of the way complete. While Grant and I were both focused on the challenge we didn’t make a lot of headway on our laundry room this past week. Most of our time was spent on demo, dry fitting and picking up building materials.
